Anti-HIV-1 p17 antibody
Immunized Animal: Guinea Pig
Polyclonal antiserum
Cat. # 65-010 (50
μl)Description
HIV-1 Gag p17 is the matrix protein of AIDS virus HIV-1 and is processed by the digestion of its precursor Gag p55 by HIV-1 protease. This protein is indispensable to the reproduction of AIDS virus and constitute the essential element of the of AIDS virus particle construction (1).
The product is prepared by inducing immune response in marmot with recombinant protein p17 which was over-expressed in E. coli with a plasmid carrying the Gag p17 coding region of HIV-1 virus, subtype B (2), and highly purified by several steps of chromatography (3, 4).
Using the product as antiserum in Western Blotting, the bands of 17 kD and 55 kD pertaining respectively to HIV-p17 and to its precursor p55 was observed in the solution of AIDS virus infected cells (Fig. 1).
Usage
It can be used in Western Blotting or ELISA for the purpose of HIV-1 p17 detection and titration.•
