Acute Myocardial Infarction Rapid Tests

Following the onset of acute myocardial infarction Troponin I and Myoglobin are rapidly released in to the blood circulation.  The rapid Troponin I and rapid Myoglobin immunochromatography slide tests are valuable aids for Ruling In or Ruling Out AMI with patients presenting themselves to the Hospital Emergency Department with chest pain.  These simple tests require just 150 mL of whole blood to be placed into the slide well. After 15-20 minutes a band appears to indicate the test is working correctly and a second band should Troponin I or Myoglobin be present in the blood sample.  These tests require no expensive equipment as the result is read visually.
